The club held its second tournament of the year on the 22nd November at Overton Primary
School. As well as our own competitors, we welcomed guests from Lindsay Lawrence
Taekwondo, Kingston University Taekwondo Club, TASIS, Powerhouse Taekwondo
and Portsmouth University Taekwondo Club.
The turnout was excellent, far more than we’d planned for and in the end meant that over 40
matches were run. All the competitors showed great spirit. The matches were fought with energy and enthusiasm but also keeping the Taekwondo attitude all the time.
Many thanks to all those who competed. Also especially to those who helped out on the day
and to the officials. 13 people corner judged or refereed on the day—a record for the club and something we should look to continue to develop. For those interested in the next stage
of officiating there will be an official BTCB Class 3 Corner Judges Course in Kingston on the 17th January.
